Hello!
Thanks so much for being here-
Liminal has become a deep seeded prayer and extension of my heart. Beyond a beauty maker, I have found myself weaving because I trust the slow and what happens in the spaces we become quiet enough to listen.
My relationship with the beads truly feel like a courtship, lifetimes of love affairs. One hope through my pieces: may they offer curiosities that inspire others to use their hands. May we all find ways to use our holy hands in this life, to give, hold, & make.
I have found myself wandering and learning many places over the years. From the lands of the shedding seasons and turning color of New Hampshire, to the vast open red stones of New Mexico, to the canyon walls of Utah, to the Cactus statues of Arizona, and the gushing streams and high alpine of Colorado. Now finding myself currently calling Central Oregon home, learning the lush ferned forests and the ocean songs.
Let us keep walking courageously with our hearts in our hands and my we brilliantly make mistakes.
with devotion // wild blessings
xx Tess
(we)aving to remember
“our sense of wonder has got to go into what our hands can do. it can’t just stay in our heads. the hands are holy. what they make is just as eloquent as what our tongues can speak. and when the hands are done speaking, you have beauty you can handle.”
-Martin Prechtel
Thank you to all the tools and material I use:
Needles were one of the first tool to be made originally out of bone to sew, make shelter, and add embroidered detail to clothing. Later on, metal needles supported many daily functions from animal processing to medical needs. The metal needle even influenced ones relationship with fishing, leading to create metal hooks with thread.
Thank you to my grandmother and mother who introduced me to beauty making
Thank you to my dad who taught me how to use and take care of my hands
